Dolphin Cruises
You will arrive at Marsa Alam airport where we will welcome you to take you by bus to Hamata where our boat awaits us. Depending on the flight schedule, we can stop for lunch on our way to Hamata or have a short stop for a coffee or cool drink. Our first night is spent on board the boat in the harbour. We set sail the following morning and two hours later we will reach what is probably one of the most magical places on earth: Sataya or the Dolphin Reef.
The Red Sea
A U-shaped coral reef lies in calm turquoise waters off the Egyptian Red Sea coast, in which several schools of Spinner Dolphins rest, play and raise their young away from the strong currents and dangers of the open sea. These dolphins are happy to swim with people, having done so for many years now. In fact, many of them have been born into the habit. They are curious creatures and like to approach swimmers, peer into our face masks and swim alongside us. They will allow you to cruise along with them, swimming slowly so that you can keep up. They may leap and play and chase each other, giving you a wonderful show you will remember for a lifetime. They love children and are very gentle in their approach.
The Boat
We will reside for 6 days on a wonderful boat, equipped with all the necessary comforts needed to experience a peaceful and invigorating stay. Our crew members on board are available at all times and provide first-rate and professional services.
The chef on board combines cultures, blending several culinary styles and preparing varied menus throughout the entire week.
There is an airy saloon furnished with a TV for watching videos and a full music installation both inside and on deck. The cabins are fully equipped with two single beds and a bathroom with shower in each room. You can choose to sleep outside on one of the decks at night and admire the starlit sky.
We will leave Sataya on the 7th day and sail back to Hamata harbour, where we will spend our last night on board or go to a comfortable hotel.
In Sataya
The dolphins are wild and free, so there will be moments during the day when they will be less present around the boat, but so far, not one week has gone by without several encounters with the dolphins. Whenever the dolphins take their leave of us, you are given plenty of opportunity to visit the surrounding reef, snorkeling at your own pace.
The amazing underwater world of the Red Sea remains a living tapestry of stunning corals and exotic fish, waiting for you to discover its secrets.
During the day and in the early evening, you are also given the chance to participate in Hatha Yoga or Pilates classes or attend our wonderful art-therapy workshops or any of the activities offered on board during that week, all of which are given by excellent certified teachers. There is enough space on the various decks to either sunbathe or rest in the shade and find your own quiet place.
